Prototype Update 0.1
Hello everyone and thank you for taking some time to have a look at the current state of our game ‘Alien Farming’.
Programming Progress
Over the last two weeks the programming team successfully implemented segments of the game loop including planting seeds, the growing process and harvesting the crops.
Furthermore, the cooking mechanic has also been implemented. Once the ingredients required are put into the machine the dish begins to cook. You can view the dishes being prepared in the boxes on the right side of the screen. Once the cooking finishes, the dishes are moved to the left side where they can be retrieved.
The programming team will be working on the order manager over the next week. Hopefully we will be able to show this in the next dev blog.
Art Team
The art team worked on more dishes to add to the game to add some more variety for the prototype. As well as that another character has been designed and added to the game.
Furthermore, updated UI has been designed along with the cooking and order machine which will be used on the map.
Overall the team has been having a hard time putting the prototype together. There have been some issues with code that delayed the progress of the game loop but we have been trying our best to put in the time to try and fix the issues early, such as code compatibility among the coders, in order to smoothly implement other mechanics.
